The Supreme Court analyzed the Law "On Joint-Stock Companies" submitted to the President of Ukraine for signature (draft law No. 2493 ), the main purpose of which is to raise the level of corporate governance in business companies in view of European practices and standards to protect the rights of investors and expand opportunities for attracting capital.
"On July 27, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the new Law No. 2493 "On Joint-Stock Companies". This bill has been under consideration by the parliament since November 2019. More than 900 amendments were made to it before the second reading. On August 1, 2022, the specified Law was submitted to the President of Ukraine for signature. This Law, with the exception of a number of regulations, enters into force on January 1, 2023, amending the Law of Ukraine "On Joint-Stock Companies" of 2008," the Supreme Court explained .
